Young Martin ElvisMartin John Pisani was born on September 14th 1972 to his Maltese parents Carmen and Phil in Herford Germany. He has one older sister. At the age of 6 Martin and his family moved to England, where he was educated until he moved to Malta in 1987. Martin married his teenage sweetheart Carmen in 1995 and they have four beautiful children.

Martin’s singing career began by chance on the eve of the new Millennium when he was working as a hotel security guard. It has since gone from strength to strength. In 2001 Martin appeared at Hardy Spicer’s Rock n’ Roll Club in Birmingham; one of the largest rock n’ roll clubs in the UK. He also got through to finals of the GMTV ‘Search for Elvis Competition’, where he got through to the London Finals out of an estimated thousands of entrants.

In Blackpool in January 2004, Martin took part in the largest Elvis Convention ever held in Europe, where he was placed in the final 10 best Elvis’s, with contestants from far and wide, including the USA, Denmark, Spain, the Czech Republic, the UK and of course Malta.

On July 5th 2004 Martin took part in the Global Moment in Time in London’s Baker Street to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the birth of Rock n Roll. This event followed an Elvis competition at the Trocadero Centre in London where he once again placed in the final 10 out of 48 Professional Tribute Artists. On the morning of July 5th, Martin appeared on GMTV (UK) with a handful of other Elvis Tribute Artists taking part in the celebrations.

In October 2004 Martin was awarded the “Elvies Gospel Award” for Best Gospel Elvis Singer in Europe, at the Elvis Awards in Porthcawl Wales. Martin received this prestigious honour from Elvis Presley’s Tour Producer (1972-1977) Mr. Charles Stone. Martin also returned to Porthcawl in October 2005 to appear at the Elvies Hall of Fame Show. The highlight of his career to date occurred here when the Sweet Inspirations (Elvis Presley’s backing singers 1970 -77) asked Martin to sing with them.

Each year Martin plays tribute to the King with shows to mark the anniversary of Elvis’s death (August 16th) and his birthday (January 8th).

Martin now sings four to five nights a week in Malta. His repertoire is extremely diverse, with Martin paying tribute to Elvis, singing 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll and also slotting in a few modern hits in for good measure! Martin has released three CDs, which have all been hugely popular with both his Maltese fan base and tourists from around the world.
